9/28 Summer final fish count

The Ace is now out of the water. Boat wrapped up and dock out.

Year end report total walleyes caught 711 114 keepers 597 small eyes

552 misc. fish grand total 1263 fish caught.

This was my poorest year since 2006 .

I blame the weather and low water conditions.

Fish are still there so I won't quit fishing next year. 

When the ice fishing season starts I will report on local word of mouth catches

and ice conditions stay tuned.

Start daily posting again when walleye seasons opens in 2012.

Mild light chop with SW winds a day to drift.

Drifted for 3 1/2 hours at two different weed edges.

Second edge worked best caught a total of13 fish .

South east edge of the middle grounds provided more fish.

Good day just hard to find keepers. Trolled 4 different weed edges.

Misty damp day no fishing.

Ace is going to say a few words about Fridays fish fry.

Thanks to the Chief and Coon Kissing Woman [Tom And Barb]

without their hospitably we would not have room for the over 40 friends who attended

the 6th fish fry at their home. A great time was had by all plenty of food and liquid refreshment.

We hope for more fish frys in the future. Thanks for giving me reason to fish.

Yesterday afternoon I received news of the death of my longtime neighbor and friend Jim.

Jim and his late wife were friends and later neighbors for over 40 years.

Jim was a great fisherman and a great help in honing my fishing skills.

He will be missed and my heart goes out to his family.

He and his wife Lois now fish forever with the Lord in heaven.

Cloudy with the threat of thunder showers light SW winds.

Trolled out front east to west on weed edge.

Thunder showers started at 8:30 I was off the lake.

The chief reported 2 keeper eyes 5 small eyes pike and bluegill.

Also reported 2 friends swimming by Nice deer about 1/2 to 1 mile off long point.

A light rain overnight cloudy at 5:30 light wind started fishing at 6:00.

Went back to the south east corner of the middle grounds trolled weed edges until 10:15.

Caught 5 keeper eyes 6 small eyes 5 perch 2 pike.

The Ace and son with friend Marissa went fishing at 6:00 quit at 9:15.

Caught 8 fish Marissa had 2 small eyes 1 pike.

A late report from the ace:

Ace, Big Jon, and the Son of the Ace fished from 5:45 to 10:00.

Bad day, Aces Son 1 small eye, Big Jon 1 perch .

The Ace drove the boat, and stopped line fowling .

The Ace only caught 3 keepers, 6 small eyes, and 1 perch.

What could have happen if The Ace had some real fishermen in the boat?

He probably would have limited out!

Memorial Day 5/30 report

THANK ALL ARMED FORCE PERSONAL PAST AND PRESENT FOR MY FREEDOM TO FISH.

The fishing was good caught 20 fish in 4 hours no keepers.

The chief reports 3 keeper eyes 12 small eyes 2 crappies and some pike.

Talked to the mid forest fisherman he had 3 keeper eyes plus small eyes and pike.

Sunday report 5/29

6:00 am big Jon and brother in law terry guided by the ace.

Cloudy light wind ,fog and choppy.

20 total fish by 10:15.

2 keeper eyes 2 small eyes 3 small pike 1 pike about 27 inches for Jon

3 small eyes 1 pike Terry

4 small eyes 2 pike 1 small mouth 1 rock bass ace.

The ace excelled in boat control and line untangling.

Saturday report 5/28

Big Jon with the ace as guide started fishing at6:00.

Total fish caught 27 off the lake by9:30.

Big Jon 1 keeper eye 10 small eyes 1 perch 1 pike.

Ace 1 keeper eye 9 small eyes 4 pike.

For those who care, the score would be 14 to 13 advantage Ace.

Chief did not fish he questioned our intelligence for fishing in poor conditions.

Fridays report 5/27

Cold 38 degrees light ne winds headed out at 6 am.

Caught 11 small eyes 1 keeper eye 3 pike,the keeper was 19 inches long .

Waiting for the chief to report if its good I will post later.

Thursday 5/26 report.

The report is poor weather not good.

I went fishing got wet and cold caught 1 small eye 3 pike Quit after 1 hour.

Wednesday report 5/25

Cool cloudy winds from the east don`t look good.

Looks were deceiving.

Fished from 5:50 to 10:50 caught 29 fish.

4 keeper eyes 17 small eyes 6 pike 1 small mouth 1perch about 11 inches.

The chief caught 3 keeper eyes 12 small eyes 4 nice crappies 4 or 5 pike.

Best day so far this year.

The chief and the ace played pool.

Windy the lakes full of white caps .

no fishing for the ace the chief stayed off also.

6 am start little breezy turned nice about 8 am fished untill 11 am.

Caught 1 keeper eye and 18 small eyes 4 pike.

Big Jon and the Ace hit the water at 6 am. Clear and calm.

Trolled till 9:45 moving to several different weed lines.

Ace caught 3 small eyes and 4 pike.

Friday report 5/20

The fishing were biting today but still small.

Started at 5:40 off the lake at 10:30.

Cloudy early light winds cleared around 9.

Caught 1 keeper eye 18 small eyes 7 pike 1 large mouth.

Chief reported 1 keeper eye 12 small eyes 12 pike 2 perch 1 rock bass.

Moved around a lot the big ones should start soon.

Thursday report 5/19

Cloudy impending rain I started early fishing by5:45.

Trolled south to north on weed edge in front of sonngers.

Caught 2 keeper eyes 9 small eyes 2 pike 1 perch.

Rain came I was off the lake by 9:00.

The chief reported five pike in front of sportsman's bait.

Wednesday report 5/18

The day is cloudy cool misty 8 mph winds from the NE.

Started fishing at 6:05 quit at 10:30.

Today's total 2 keeper eyes and 9small eyes one perch.

The word from the chief fishing picking up.

7 small eyes 3 pike 1 crappie 2 perch 1 nice large mouth 1 rock bass.

Tuesday report 5/17

Cool with 8 mph winds from the NE started fishing by 6:30.

Trolled in front from Sonnger towards the east and back about imile each way.

Caught 5 small eyes 4 pike and 3perch quit fishing at 9:30.

The chief reported 3 small eyes and 5 pike.

Trolled from flint road to cut river and back.

Started fishing at 5:50 trolled public launch dropoff one time no hits

Moved to sportsman dropoff trolled to the cut river and back caught fish.

trolled flint road dropoff about 2 miles caught more fish

total fish for the day 12 pike 3 small eyes 2 small perch

hit the lake at 6 off at 9:15. mild and calm

fished in front at my turn to to the southwest.

caught 4 small eyes and 4 pike

used gulp alive for bait

Thunder storms this morning.

the ace will not fish around thunder and lighting.

Cool and calm lines in by 6:10.

trolled the drop from east public launch to denton creek past pressure crack bar.

Clear and cool this morning. Started fishing had lines in by 6:15.

trolled in front of sportsman bait shop to flint road and back twice.

caught 2 small walleyes 1 perch and 8 small pike.

water temp is up3 more degrees now 54 the bigger fish should start hitting soon.

Cool this morning but light winds.

Started fishing by 6:15.

Caught 5 small walleyes and 4 pike.

windy overcast stayed off the lake.

checked last years calendar the first couple of weeks in may were about the same

Started fishing 6:15 cold with light wind

caught 3 pike 1 large mouth 1 smallmoth both nice fish not in season toss back

Called the chief  for his report 4 pike 1 crappie nice sized

The chief wanted me to report on the coon kissing womans sucessful trukey hunt second year

in a row  for her good job

Wednesday report 5/4

Stayed off the lake today tried the canals at Huges house

I caught 6 small crappies.

Hugh caught 3 nice ones plus 5 small ones.

not great but you should have been there Sunday or Monday

heard that before but still no skunk so I'm happy

hope to be back on the lake thursday

Cold with nnw wind 5 to 10

trolled in front from songers resort to the public landing in 9 to 11 ft of water

I caught 1 perch 11 3/4 in and one small eye 13 1/2

Called the chief he caught 3 small pike trolling by the cut river

also he reports crappie being caught off  flint road on minnows

Opening Day Update

One keeper, one small walleye for the Ace.
Big Jon:  one small pike, one small walleye.
Early start, high winds, choppy conditions, had to quit after 2 hours.
