Rain this morning no fishing after noon try by the neighbors the wind was up poor conditions tomorrow is another day.

Friday 6/28 report


No fishing worked a large fish fry with the Chief and Coon Kissing Woman at their home over 50 guest eating panko coated walleye. Rain held off fun was had by all thanks to all the help and great friends that give me reason to fish.

Thursday 6/27 report

Days catch ready for cleaning. 5 keeper eyes 3 nice perch also caught 11 small eyes
2 other perch 3 rock bass 1 sunfish. Trolled SE edge same as Wed. fished 3 hours 15 min.
yellow blades tipped with crawlers and leaches.

Wednesday 6/26 report

Calm warm and buggy just like summer fished SE edge of middle grounds for 4 hours.

Caught 3 keeper eyes 6 small eyes 2 perch 1 gill 1 rock bass.

This area has a lot of weed growth so a lot of time is spent clearing lines but the fish are here.

Leaches worked best on harnesses with yellow blades.

Thusday 6/25 report

Cloudy choppy fished about 1 hour from 6 till 7 rain came caught 1 keeper eyes 2 small eyes 2 perch 1 gill. Drifted action was slow. I'll try again in the morning.

Monday 6/24 report

Busy weekend over back to my regular fishing this morning.
Lines in by 5:55 trolling into brisk SW wind boat control is a problem.
Drifted for awhile both methods caught fish but bite was slow.
2 keeper eyes 4 small eyes 4 perch 1 gill 1 rock bass quit by 10.
Hope to do better tomorrow.

Sunday 6/23 report

No fishing. Now the rest of the story about the Jon Green Walleye Classic.
Big Jon started us all out at 6 AM. Five boats boat 1 the Warren trio Joe Jake and Drew .this team tried to triple team the rest of us didn't quite work but they came close they had 3 keeper eyes at the
11AM measuring and had caught many other fish. Boat 2 Big Jon and Clarke the whizz Kid started fast with 3 early keeper eyes from one of Aces hot spots that was their morning total.
Boat 3 Jere Pain Train Green and Leelanau Doug fishing the same hot spot had 5 keeper eyes
including Pain Train big fish of the day 19 1/2 in. at the early measuring. Boat 4 Chief and Son of Ace 2 keeper eyes. Ace and Pro Bono Aaron measured 4 keepers at the same time. Lunch break
courtesy of host Big Jon then back to fishing from 1 until 4 PM final measuring.
All boats caught fish but the only keepers were caught and brought in for measuring was by the winning team of Ace and Pro Bono. 8 total 8 keeper eyes over 130 inches they were the trophy winners. After fishing fish fry was enjoyed by all. Hopping for more boats next year.
The Pain Train made 100 bucks for his big fish.

Saturday 6/22 report

Local resident Jon Green organized a walleye fishing tournament, taking place on June 22, 2013, called the First Annual Jon Green Walleye Classic.
 
In 5 boats, there were 11 participants.
 
The totals for the day included 21 keeper walleye among over a hundred other fish. 
 
Scoring to determine the winner was based on keeper walleye length. 
 
The winners were Bill Simmons and Aaron Hilgendorf, with 8 keepers, over 120 inches in length. 
 
The biggest fish winner was Jere Green, landing a 19 inch walleye.    
 
Closing ceremonies were held at a fish fry in the early evening.

Friday 6/21 report

Ace and the Green brothers on the lake around 6 off around 10 about 20 fish.
Jon using the Ace's lures caught 3 keepers  allowed his brother to change so he started
catching fish 1 keeper eye and many small eyes. Tomorrow watch for results of the Jon Green
walleye classic.

Fishing slowed hit 4 different edges before I finally found some fish.
Total1keeper eye 8 small eyes 2 pike 1 gill. Chief reported 4 keeper eyes by 8 AM.
Two other boats said fishing was slow.

Wednesday 6/19 report

Picture tells the story 5 keeper eyes. I also caught 14 small eyes and a pike.
Morning was cool(39) no wind light fog fished from 5:50 to 10:15 trolling 3
different weed edges all held fish shinny blades and worms worked best.

Tuesday 6/18 report

Cool light NE wind to start. Lines in by 5:45 trolling east towards the public launch.
Fish were active caught 17 eyes 2 gills 1 sunfish 1 large mouth 1 crappie by 10.
Only 1keeper eye and the crappie was 13 1/2 inches. Wind picked up quit fishing.
Purple blades on my crawler harness worked best tipped with 1/2 crawler.

Sunday 6/16 report

Father's day fishing with Cathy and Sam. Misty windy fished 2hours drifting out front
We caught 7 fish Sam had the only keeper eye. We were wet from the waves on every
move so we quit and came in early. Report from Papa's bait has limits caught in the weeds
in front of the Cut river using slip bobbers with crawlers and leaches both working.

Fathers day weekend fishing with Cathy my fishing girl at 6AM until 11AM.
Came in with 6 keeper eyes and 2 nice perch (1 over 12 in) 23 total fish.
Aces was out fished 13 to 10 . She used a special color that's cheating.

Friday 6/12 report


On the lake with Big Jon by 5:45. N wind light chop trolled from Songers to the public launch.
Caught a few fish not great moved towards public launch trolled and drifted towards Prudenville
caught a few more fish. Ended with 2 keeper eyes 8 small eyes 4 pike 3 p3rch 1 small mouth
1 large mouth. Jon finely caught some fish after changing color per instruction final score 14 to 4.
Next week end watch for results of the 2013 Jon Green Walleye Classic.

Thursday 6/13 report

NNE wind started at 5:50 out front trolling towards the east along weed edge.

Caught 1 keeper and 1 small eye on the first pass turned caught a small eye and a pike.

Wind had picked up tried drifting not much action moved drifted another edge same results.

Headed home trolling into the wind picked up another keeper and 11 in perch.

Day total 2 keeper eyes 6 small eyes 3 perch 1 pike 1 rock bass.

Another fisherman caught 5 keeper eyes drifting weeds out front.

He use single hook with split shot and worms and crawlers.

Cloudy calm and buggy lines in by 5:45.

Fished until 10 AM caught 21 fish 15 small eyes 5 pike 1  bass 0 keepers.

Slow start changed to shinny blades fish started hitting.

3 different edges same results small fish try tomorrow.

Slow start cloudy light wnw wind trolled and drifted  and trolled again.

Finlay found some active fish caught 2 keeper eyes 6 small eyes 3 perch 3 pan fish 2 bass 1 pike.

Quit at 10 try again tomorrow.

Fished from 6 am till 10 slow bite 1 keeper eye 6 small eyes 4 pike 1 crappie 1 small mouth.

The small mouth was 19 1/2 in. largest I've ever caught.  No pictures he is back in the lake.

Cool calm clear start at 5:45. Worked the weed edge by the county 100 boat launch
bite was slow small fish. Moved to the next weed edge and trolled west towards Songer's
Bite was a little better I trolled this edge until 11:00 AM
Total catch for the day 5 keeper eyes 7small eyes 9 pike
1/2 crawler worked well colors were shinny blade purple beads gold blade and chartreuse and shiny.

Lines in at 5:50 first fish in the boat 5:55 great start but things slowed down.
Fished until 10:30 caught 2 keeper eyes 12 small eyes 5 pike 4 bass.
NE wind light clouds fished the public launch weed edge trolled not enough wind for good drift.

Thursday 6/6 report


Cloudy cool light NE winds. Started trolling at public launch ESE towards Prudenville not much action  turned back towards the launch fish turned on. Fished from 6 am to 9:45 caught 19 fish.
4 keeper eyes 6 small eyes 7 pike (3 over 24 in.) 1 crappie over 13 in 1 large mouth.
Leaches and worms both worked well. This weed edge is not fished very heavy and as
the weather warms holds a lot of fish.

Cool cloudy almost calm start at 6AM.

trolled out to my NS area fish not active few small ones.

Moved to SE edge of Middle grounds trolled and then drifted when wind increased.

Fishing was slow but I was able to put 3 keeper eyes, 2 nice pan fish and a perch in the live well.

Days count was 14 eyes 4 perch 3 pan fish 1 pike 1 small mouth 1 large mouth.

6 hours fishing time.

Posting early limited out by 9:30 AM.

Cold choppy NW wind the fish were at my north south drift area.

caught 5 keeper eyes 5 small eyes 1 perch (almost 12 in.) and 1 pike in 2and 1/2 hours.

Copper, purple, and raspberry blades tipped with 1/2 crawler was bait used.

Cool damp windy fished about 2 hours with big Jon.

Drifted out front at the horseshoe weed bed caught 13 fish.

7 small eyes 2 pike 2 gills 1 crappie 1 perch.

Wind was 15 mph with gust to over 20 from NW not much fun quit early.

Saturday 6/1 report


Thunder showers early cleared out by 7:30 big Jon  and Ace hit the water at 8:00.

Caught about 30 fish total   before wind made trolling to hard.

5 keeper eyes and a nice perch in the well when we came in.

Fish fly hatch has started should do good if we can get out in the morning

worms worked best copper blades and purple blades we the way to go.
