Tuesday 7/9 report

Cloudy and damp start light WNW winds tried 3 edges before hitting fish.

Changed to a chartreuse and shiny blade caught 2 keeper eyes 5 small eyes 6 pan fish 2 smallies

Thunder shower threat tonight hope to get out in the morning.

  1. okay i am a casual fisherman on houghton, i have a few questions and you can e-mail them to me if you want, i want to know, what depth,time of day/night and what are you using to catch all of these walleye's and panfish

      Most of my fishing is from 6 AM until 10 or 11 AM.

      I use a single hook crawler harness about 36 in long with a #2 split shot at the swivel 1/2 crawler or leach is my baits of choice

      I troll most of the time trying to stay under 2 MPH
      I also drift if winds move the boat at around 1 MPH
      Trolling weed edges at 9 to 12 feet. drifting across the same edges starting at 9 feet and going to 12 or 13 feet. very few fish are caught by me in water over 12 feet.
